The Planet-C misión, also known as Akatsuki, (“Dawn” in english) or Venus Climate Orbiter (VCO) is a spacecraft designed by JAXA ( Japan Spatial Agency) aimed to Venus exploration.
It is the first Japanese spacecraft launched to Venus and the second, after Nazomi (Planet-B) launched to another planet. After some unsuccessful attempts, it was inserted in Venus orbit on December 2015 .
