Desde el punto de vista de la superficie de la Tierra, la oposici\u00f3n ocurre cuando un objeto astron\u00f3mico sale por el este mientras el Sol se pone por el oeste, colocando al objeto y al Sol en lados opuestos de la Tierra.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La oposici\u00f3n de J\u00fapiter ocurre cada 13 meses, lo que hace que el planeta parezca m\u00e1s grande y brillante que en cualquier otra \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o. Pero eso no es todo, J\u00fapiter tambi\u00e9n estar\u00e1 en su posici\u00f3n m\u00e1s cercana a la Tierra en los \u00faltimos 59 a\u00f1os. Esto sucede porque la Tierra y J\u00fapiter no giran alrededor del Sol en c\u00edrculos perfectos, lo que significa que los planetas se mantienen a diferentes distancias a lo largo del a\u00f1o. La posici\u00f3n m\u00e1s cercana de J\u00fapiter y la Tierra rara vez coincide con la oposici\u00f3n, por lo que la observaci\u00f3n al planeta este a\u00f1o ser\u00e1 extraordinaria. En su m\u00e1xima aproximaci\u00f3n, J\u00fapiter estar\u00e1 a una distancia alrededor de 590 millones de kil\u00f3metros de la Tierra, m\u00e1s o menos a la misma distancia que estuvo en 1963. J\u00fapiter est\u00e1 aproximadamente a 965 millones de kil\u00f3metros de la Tierra en su punto m\u00e1s lejano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCon unos buenos prism\u00e1ticos, las bandas (al menos la banda central) y tres o cuatro de los sat\u00e9lites galileanos (lunas) deber\u00edan ser visibles\u201d, dijo Adam Kobelski, astrof\u00edsico investigador del Marshall Space Flight Center de la NASA, en Huntsville (Alabama). \u201cEs importante recordar que Galileo observ\u00f3 estas lunas con \u00f3ptica del siglo XVII. Una de las necesidades clave ser\u00e1 una montura estable para el sistema que se utilice\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kobelski recomienda un telescopio m\u00e1s grande para ver la Gran Mancha Roja y las bandas de J\u00fapiter con m\u00e1s detalle; un telescopio de 4 pulgadas o m\u00e1s grande y algunos filtros en el rango de verde a azul mejorar\u00edan la visibilidad de estas caracter\u00edsticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seg\u00fan Kobelski, un lugarpara realizar una observaci\u00f3n ideal ser\u00eda una gran elevaci\u00f3n en un \u00e1rea oscura y seca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLas vistas deber\u00edan ser excelentes durante unos d\u00edas antes y despu\u00e9s del 26 de septiembre\u201d, dijo Kobelski. \u201cPor ello, aprovecha el buen clima en torno a esta fecha para disfrutar de la vista. Fuera de la Luna, deber\u00eda ser uno de los (si no el) objetos m\u00e1s brillantes en el cielo nocturno\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">J\u00fapiter tiene 53 lunas con nombre, pero los cient\u00edficos creen que se han detectado 79 lunas en total. Las <a href=\"https:\/\/solarsystem.nasa.gov\/moons\/jupiter-moons\/in-depth\/#otp_the_galilean_moons\">cuatro lunas m\u00e1s grandes<\/a>, Io, Europa, Gan\u00edmedes y Calisto, se denominan sat\u00e9lites galileanos. Llevan el nombre de la persona que los observ\u00f3 en 1610, Galileo Galilei. Con prism\u00e1ticos o con un telescopio, los sat\u00e9lites galileanos deber\u00edan aparecer como puntos brillantes a ambos lados de J\u00fapiter durante la oposici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La nave espacial Juno de la NASA, que ha estado orbitando a J\u00fapiter durante seis a\u00f1os, se dedica a explorar el planeta y sus lunas. Juno comenz\u00f3 su viaje en 2011 y lleg\u00f3 a J\u00fapiter cinco a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s. Desde 2016, la nave espacial ha proporcionado im\u00e1genes y datos incre\u00edbles sobre la din\u00e1mica atm\u00f3sfera, las estructuras interiores, el campo magn\u00e9tico interno y la magnetosfera de J\u00fapiter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los cient\u00edficos creen que el estudio de J\u00fapiter puede conducir a descubrimientos revolucionarios sobre la formaci\u00f3n del sistema solar. La misi\u00f3n de Juno se ha prolongado recientemente hasta 2025 o hasta el final de la vida \u00fatil de la nave espacial. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/juno\/main\/index.html\">M\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n sobre Juno<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El pr\u00f3ximo gran proyecto para la exploraci\u00f3n de J\u00fapiter es la misi\u00f3n <a href=\"https:\/\/europa.nasa.gov\/\">Europa Clipper<\/a>. Esta nave espacial explorar\u00e1 la ic\u00f3nica luna de J\u00fapiter, Europa, que es conocida por su capa helada y el vasto oc\u00e9ano que se encuentra debajo de su superficie. Los cient\u00edficos de la NASA tienen como objetivo averiguar si Europa tiene condiciones capaces de sustentar la vida.
